Prospective Students & Families

Dear Families and Friends of Future Finn Hill Middle School Falcons:

My name is Jennifer Cleaves, and I am the principal of Finn Hill Middle School. My associate principal, Holly Knowles, and I would like to share information about how to connect to Finn Hill Middle School as your students prepare to transition from elementary school to the middle school.

5th Grade Presentations
Our counselors visit the four elementary schools that feed into Finn Hill (Juanita, AG Bell, Thoreau, and Sandburg). Fifth grade teachers have access to the counselors’ presentations and the required registration forms for students who may miss the in-person visits. All registration forms are turned in to fifth grade teachers in mid-February. The counselors pick up these forms and use them to register students for sixth grade classes.

Counselors visit the elementary schools again in the spring to talk about all the “fun stuff” like lockers, lunch, activities, athletics, academics, etc. This is in addition to our Future Falcon Day, which you can learn more about below.

Opportunities to Learn More about FHMS
We invite you to several opportunities to learn more about our school:

For Incoming Students

  • In August, we host “Prep Day” before school starts. This is an opportunity for incoming students to buy ASB cards and PE shirts, get their school pictures taken, pay fees, get required immunizations, register for sports, and tour the school.

  • Our curriculum night is virtual. Teachers will prepare short videos for you to view at your convenience at home. The virtual curriculum night is posted the same night as our in-person event.

  • Our back-to-school night, Falcon Fest, is held at the end of September/beginning of October. This is a time to meet and greet teachers and attend helpful parent education sessions as you and your family learn to “do” middle school.

For Prospective Students

  • Each January, all incoming sixth grade families are invited to an information nigh called “Future Falcon Night.” If you miss Future Falcon Night, we always have the presentation slides available to view.

  • In June, we host “Future Falcon Day.” This is a field trip that fifth graders take to Finn Hill to tour the building and learn more about what it means to be a Falcon.

  • You are always welcome to call or email the school to arrange a tour. Please reach out-we’d love to have you learn more about Finn Hill!

We look forward to meeting you and working together to support your Future Falcons!

FHMS Sign

If you've never been to Finn Hill Middle School before, you can go on a virtual tour of the school and familiarize yourself with our campus and "meet" many of the teachers and staff who will be working with 6th graders next year.
